St. Patrick's Day Parade 2012
We may not be Irish, but we love a parade! Our town has a great St. Patrick's Day parade that grows every year and the kids had a ball this year!
there was lots to see...
we had our green on
candy to grab
Caroline was very proactive about getting green necklaces, stickers, and lots of candy.
My favorite part of the parade was the Scottish bagpipe players. I want a kilt.
She looked impressive in hers!
The Irish dancers were cute too!
This is NOT St. Patrick. Trust me.
How do I know?
Because THIS is St. Patrick.
Roller derby Girls. They were fierce and tough.
More Irish dancers.
Our friends Chris, JP, & the boys met us out there.
It was a wonderful Saturday.
The friends, weather, sights, and fun were all around.
Oh yeah. and there was funnel cake!

Sis Boom Swoon
I've had a brush with celebrity. THE Jennifer Paganelli of Sis Boom fabrics (heard of 'em?!) picked up my little Irish lady on HER blog! I'm somewhere between giddy and elated. Go visit SisBoom!!!
Emma Kate the Irish
On St. Patrick's Day, everyone is Irish, right? I mean, her last name is Italian, my maiden name is Scottish, my mother is French and Matthew's mom is German, but tomorrow at school, Emma Kate will be a green wearing Irish girl (lass? Scottish?). I have been saving and hoarding this fabric for a while now, sure that I would make a shirt or dress for moi (I know, I know...French) but in an act of true love, I used to make the girls something sweet to wear to school.
Love the Ruffled Hem...
Love the attitude and bare feet...
LOVE the SisBoom Fabric (you KNOW I do!)
and I love this little Irish Gearrchaile of mine (an Irish form of "young girl").

Skirts, Skirts, and more Skirts
Skirts are great; girly, frilly, twirly, and are perfect for all sorts of weather.
I just happened to make a few for the "shop" and was lucky enough to have some cute models on hand.
The girls love dressing up for me (make-up totally is the bribe) and looked pretty cute together (Oh Mimi...notice they tucked their tails in for you???).
Although it was cold today, these skirts were perfect with long sleeves and even boots!
Give it an hour and in NC the weather will change and these can easily be paired with tank tops and flip flops!
Dressing girls is so much fun!
oh, in just in case you forgot...I've got a son too!
I'd never put him in a skirt, but still plan on sewing for him...that's right! Bermuda shorts are going into the shop next week!!!

Sisterly Love
I captured a moment. One day after school last week the girls were outside while I was cleaning up the kitchen and I saw this love-fest going on. I HAD to have a picture of it, it was just too cute!
I had to be stealth like and quiet for it is certain that if they saw me, they move! I grabbed my camera and snuck near the door...
These are the moments that erase the fighting, screaming, yelling, tattling, and name calling (NOT that MY girls do this mind you).
