On Christmas Eve we went to mass and came back to find our elf on the shelf, Jack, had left pajamas for the kids. He had also helped himself to some chocolate and was stuffed in the mason jar of candy we had sitting out on the counter.
The kid's loyalty and love for Jack was really sweet this holiday. They drew him pictures and wrote letters to him. My favorite letters were to ones where they asked him questions and left him pencils for him to answer them back.
The kids really enjoyed the down-time of Christmas. We needed a break after a few months of hard school work. Board games, drawing, cookies...it was a magical Christmas season.
